~ Gardeners' Q&A ~

Given how passionate you all are about gardening and plants, and given how many of you in the Parish are keen green-fingered experts with a deep-rooted knowledge base, or a hunger for more information, we thought it would be good to have an online Q&A.

Slugs in Kitchen!

Sunday, 4 May 2014

Carol asks:
I know you are all gardeners but can you help me get rid of the slugs that are in my kitchen. Only on the floor as I can see the silvery lines. This only happens at night and I rarely see them. My son and I have searched to find out where they are getting in but to no avail. I have a cat so have to be careful what I put down. He is shut in at night. Hope you can HELP!

My Parsnips are Forking

Wednesday, 1 January 2014

Roy asks:
I have a small veg patch in my garden. All going well except my parsnips, they are all forking. Please could you help?

  • Answers we've received:
Parsnips will often fork when fresh manure is added to the seed bed. Also stony soil can cause this to happen.

To pose your question, you just need to complete the form below with your contact details and submit.

Your questions will then appear on this webpage, and if all you Percy Throwers out there have the answers to the questions, then send them in via the form ... so everyone can be happy !

It might be a good idea in the future to have a panel of 'Experts', and perhaps this is something which can be discussed.

It's up to the gardening people of the Parish to decide how this works ...
